Here is a 1972 BSA 3 speed with a Sturmey-Archer hub. Unfortunately this is a "rebadged" Raleigh, and not a true BSA. This bike is in amazingly good condition and used maybe a dozen times in 36 years. I found it hanging upside down in my wife's aunt's basement, and she was more than happy to get rid of it. It is hard to believe that this bike is only 36 years old, it looks much older.
Roughly what needs to be done is restore the paint and decals that are scratched, buff up the rust on the chrome plated steel bits, replace all cables, brake pads and tires. Maybe the handgrips. Right now this bike is 100% original, right down to the comfort saddle.
I might want to get rid of the cheap-o cable clips and maybe go to a welding shop to have some braze-ons put on. However I realize this will mean painting the frame and destroying its original value. Just the same, this bicycle is worth maybe $200. It will make a great cruiser / city bike, esp. if I replace the rear cog to a lower ratio.
